Black Chili Compound

With Continental’s unique tread compound, which is produced only in Germany, the brand has revolutionised the sport of cycling. With the legendary Black Chili compound it has answered the eternal question of the best balance of grip and rolling resistance for cycling. The latest polymers as well as specially developed carbon black particles and filler materials guarantee unique performance, be it on a road, time trial (TT) or triathlon (Tri) bike.

Vectran Breaker

Vectran is spun from liquid crystal-polymer. This way a thermoplastic, multiple-thread yarn is created. As a comparison: This partially crystalline fabric is more cut-resistant than aramid and its tensile strength is five times higher than that of steel. A Vectran breaker is lighter, more flexible and effective against cuts than a comparable nylon breaker. Without effecting rolling resistance.

Active Compound Technology and Lazer Grip

Coming complete with tubeless ready technology, the Continental Grand Prix 5000 TT TDF Road Tyre (Limited Ed.) allows you to benefit from tubeless advantages such as the ability to run lower tyre pressures. As a result, you’ll notice increased stability, lower rolling resistance and fewer chances of flats or punctures.

 

Please note: For initial mounting Continental recommend using at least 30 ml of Conti RevoSealant per tyre (available separately). Then spin the tyre (wheel) to spread the Conti RevoSealant inside of the tyre and pump to the allowed maximum pressure. Check the pressure before the next ride and adjust to your desired PSI. Hookless compatible, please check the table for compatible rims width and max. Pressure on the packaging.
